The Broad Model of Interdisciplinary Research gives researchers the the opportunity to gather information from the natural sciences, the social sciences, the humanities, and the fine and performing arts. There are six steps in the Broad Model. The first step is to define the problem. The second step is justify using an interdisciplinary approach. The third step is to identify the disciplines that are related to the problem. The fourth step is to conduct a literature search. The fifth step is critically analyze the disciplinary insights related to the problem and locate their sources. The sixth and final step is to reflect how the interdisciplinary process has given you a better understanding of the problem.

The topic that I am most interested in doing is Autism. My cousin’s daughter is autistic and I see some of the struggles that go on and it peaks my interest on learning more about it. I really haven’t thought about another topic. Maybe lung cancer would be another option. My mom had the top lobe of her left lung removed due to it. I also lost my step dad to stage four lung cancer.

The article that catch my eye was Expanding-Thinking-on-Theorizing-in-Criminology. Hearing smelling tasting seeing- the role of the arts is making sense out of the academy also sound intriguing.
